Feast of St. John Mary Vianney, Patron of Priests
"The priest is not a priest for himself—he is for you. After GOD, the priest is everything!"
— St. John Mary Vianney
Today, we honor our priests with deep gratitude for their dedication in shepherding God’s flock. St. John Mary Vianney, known as the Curé d'Ars, devoted his life to pastoral care with extraordinary humility and commitment. His dedication to the sacrament of confession and his tireless efforts to guide his parishioners offer a powerful example for all priests.
Let us thank our priests for their relentless commitment and pray for their continued strength and joy in their sacred calling. May they draw inspiration from St. John Mary Vianney’s example, leading us ever closer to Christ.
Thank you, dear priests, for your faithful service. You are a beacon of hope, faith, and grace!
PRAYER FOR PRIESTS
by St. John Vianney
God, please give to your Church today
many more priests after your own heart.
May they be worthy representatives of Christ the Good Shepherd.
May they wholeheartedly devote themselves to prayer and penance;
be examples of humility and poverty;
shining models of holiness;
tireless and powerful preachers of the Word of God;
zealous dispensers of your grace in the sacraments.
May their loving devotion to your Son Jesus in the Eucharist
and to Mary, His Mother,
be the twin fountains of fruitfulness for their ministry.
Amen.
Happy Priests' Day and Happy St. John Mary Vianney's Sunday 🙏
